Permissions
The Chattanooga Times Free Press has given Chattanooga State Community College, Augusta R. Kolwyck Library, permission to scan and post newspaper articles on its Web page. Permission was provided to the library by Bob Lutgen, Managing Editor of Operations, Chattanooga Times Free Press on April 17, 2006, and extended August 1, 2006, and August 13, 2008.
Betty Proctor, as Communicator adviser, gave the Chattanooga State Community College, Augusta R. Kolwyck Library, permission to scan, copy, and make available Communicator articles and photos for the Library Archives, December 5, 2008. Communicator selections date from August 21, 1989.
Introduction
Chattanooga State has had a library from its beginning. Augusta R. Kolwyck was appointed as the first librarian July 1, 1965 and served until she retired in 1972.
The library was dedicated to Augusta Kolwyck on August 16, 1971. Richard Harris became head of the library in 1972. In September 1981 Victoria Leather became the library director, and in 1996 became Dean of Library Services. She retired June 30, 2012.
Susan L. Jennings became Dean of Library Services 1 Aug. 2012.
